Hi, everybody in my class!!! I hope you all had the so much deserved Christmas break and came back full of energy to start this new year and term at the USB!!! Happy 2008 and welcome aboard!!!

Course Information:

ID2-125 is an English course in which you will practice and improve your English skills, learn about architecture and urban planning and venture in the marvelous world of technology within the classroom. It is a blended course, do you know what that is?...

The content of ID2-125 has been divided into 3 theme units :

The Essence of Architecture & Urban Planning
General overview of Construction Materials
Structures

Through the integration of the different objectives pursued in this class (Language, Content, and Skills) we expect you will be able to create a wiki where you will file all of your works in the form of an e-portfolio about architecture, urban planning, or both as your final project to complete this term.

Professor Dafne González has kindly created what she called an "Activities wiki" where you can find all of the information related to the different activities we will be doing on each one of the 12 weeks we'll spend together this trimester.

Professors Marianella Najul and Magaly Rodriguez (Sections 1, 2 & 4) will also be sharing this experience with us.

What is Moodle?

Moodle is a course management system (CMS) - a free, Open Source software package designed using sound pedagogical principles, to help educators create effective online learning communities.

ID2-125 was created using Moodle. To enter moodle, you must sign in.

So let's get started in Moodle.

1. Click on this link to go there

2. Once you are there, click on "Comience ahora creando una cuenta".

3. Complete the New Account form.

4. Once you have completed the New Acount form, Click on "Crear cuenta" and a message with further instructions will be sent to your email address. This email must be found in your INBOX, but if you don't find it there, please check in the tray of UNWANTED MAIL. In case you have any problems to register, please contact your teacher! A message like this will appear in your screen.

5. When you open your email, you will find a message by Andreas Meier. Open that message and click on the link in it. When you do that, a window like this will open:

6. Then, Click on "Cursos", and under the Category of INVESTIGACION, click on Id2-125-LE English for Architecture and UP. You will be asked to type an enrollment key to enter our course. Your teacher will provide the key during class time. A message similar to this will be shown in your screen.

Note that the message you will get contains the name of our course Id2-125-LE English for Architecture and UP and the name of your teacher "Tutor-Moderator: Leticia Esteves"

Once the teacher gives you the enrollment key, you will be able to access our course content, and start working in our Moodle
